Attention to all parents/guardians whose children are interested in playing boys baseball or girls softball at GCMS Middle School in the fall of 2024:
Packets of paperwork regarding registration information can be picked up in the Middle School Main office on Mondays from 8:00-3:00 throughout July starting on Monday, July 1st. These packets can be turned in at the Middle School Main office on Mondays throughout July, at the Parent Meeting for the respective sport, or at the first day of Tryouts. No athlete will be allowed to participate until ALL paperwork has been submitted. Parent Meeting dates/times/locations and the first day of tryouts can be found below:
Softball Parent Meeting: Thursday, July 18th at 5:00 p.m. at the High School Softball Field
First Day of Softball Tryouts: Monday, January 29th from 3:30-5 at the High School Softball Field
Baseball Parent Meeting: Thursday, August 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the Middle School Baseball Field
First Day of Baseball Tryouts: Monday, August 5th from 9-11 am at the Middle School Baseball Field

GCMS School District has two open Board of Education seats effective June 26, 2024. Information on the selection process is available on our website at https://www.gcmsk12.org/page/gcms-school-board
GCMS Families: There will be no summer school on Wednesday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday. Classes will resume on Thursday June 20.
Parents of incoming Kindergarten students for the 2024-2025 school year, please SAVE the DATE of August 15 4:45-7:00pm for a special evening. There will be more information coming at a later date.
Reminder that any students wanting to participate in fall sports need to have an updated sports physical completed prior to the first day of try-outs/practice (August 12). Sports physicals are good for 13 months. If a student does not have an up to date physical, they cannot participate in practices until a sports physical is completed and turned into the office.
Alums of the Gibson City High School Greyhound Choir will be hosting a Choir Reunion Saturday, July 20. There will be a rehearsal at 2:00pm at the Gibson City United Methodist Church followed by a performance at 6:00pm at the North Park. ALL alumni of the Greyhound Choir are invited to attend!
Middle School Boys Basketball starts today at the Middle School 11:30-1pm. Any incoming 6th-8th Grader interested in playing next season are welcome to attend. For a full Summer Calendar please reach out to Coach Dinkins or Coach Berry.
Congratulations to our Falcons for their historic season earning 4th place in the IHSA State Tournament. There will be a reception for the team in the High School Gym at 4:00 PM. Come out and congratulate our Falcons!

BOYS BASKETBALL YOUTH CAMP ANNOUNCEMENT: Congratulations to the Falcon Baseball team and their advancement to the state finals on Friday! To allow families and athletes time to attend the game Friday our camp implement an alternate schedule:
Tuesday May 28: 2nd-5th Grades 8-9:30am, 6th-8th Grades 9:30-11:00am
Wednesday May 29: 2nd-5th Grades 8-10am, 6th-8th Grades 10-Noon
Thursday May 30: 2nd-5th Grades 8-10am, 6th-8th Grades 10-Noon
Friday May 31 - NO CAMP
