Today Ford County students will be reflecting on their attendance in the first 5 weeks of school. Students will be tracking how many days they have been present versus how many days they have been absent. At this point in the school year, missing more than three days in the first 5 weeks of school puts a student on track to being chronically absent. When your child returns home from school today, ask them about their attendance. #bepresentbepowerful

Good morning! The homecoming dress-up days handout that went home yesterday had "Babies vs Boomers" and "Neon" Day switched. Tuesday, 9/24 should be "Neon" and Wednesday, 9/25 should be "Babies vs Boomers". The other days are correct on the note. Sorry for the confusion. Please use the attached note instead of the one that you should have received yesterday. Thanks!
Mr. Kean

Homecoming is next week! We have lots of fun dress up days and activities planned. Students are strongly encouraged to check their email for the latest updates.

There will be no school on Monday, 9/2 in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

Good afternoon high school parents/guardians,
GCMS High School provides several different options for support of students that are struggling academically.
Study Tables are available from 7:30-8:00 and 3:30-4:00 each day of student attendance. These can be utilized as a quiet place to do work and seek help. These will be mandatory for any student-athlete that is earning a D or F or students that are referred by a classroom teacher.
McCormick Tutoring (Mrs. Hays) will begin on September 9 and will be from 3:30-4:30 in Mrs. Hays's room (204) Monday-Thursday during student attendance days. Tutoring can be utilized for any student that needs additional support, especially in Algebra I, Geometry, and English classes. Students can utilize this service for studying for tests (any subject) and homework.
Mrs. Thomason is also available in the library Tuesdays and Thursdays for tutoring during the school day.
The best option for all of our students is to seek help from the teacher in the class that they are struggling with first. All of our staff are here to help and your success is our top priority.
Each class also has a reteach/retake policy that students can utilize for tests/quizzes/assessments. Students should ask their individual teachers for guidance on reteach/retake policies.
Please reach out with any questions!
Sincerely,
Mr. Bielfeldt

GCMS Seniors participated in a team building trip to the Monticello 4-H Memorial Camp today. It was a great day of fun, cooperation, and camaraderie to start their senior year!
