The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive on Wednesday July 14 from 1:00-6:00 pm at the American Lutheran Church located on Route 9 East. To make an appointment call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org. To speed up the donation process you can choose to complete the Rapid Pass online health history questionnaire found at redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. A blood donor card, driver’s license or two forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals 17 years or older (16 with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood. Blood is desperately needed this year, so please consider donating to this life saving cause. According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. requires a transfusion, and during the summer months, the need increases.

We made it!
2020-2021 school year came with many challenges, obstacles, twists, and turns, but we have collectively weathered the storm and provided great in person learning opportunities for our children. Thank you to all who invested and took on this unique experience to do the best we could for our children.
The 2020-2021 totals for COVID experience for GCMS are as follows:

We are fortunate to report that we had minimal medical impact on the students and staff of GCMS. We also sympathize with those outside our system that were not so fortunate.
As we close the door on 2020-2021 we look forward to entering 2021-2022 school year with a renewed focus, and expectation, for teaching and learning with all students back full time. We will refocus on the expectations of regular attendance, on time completion of work, and continuing the partnership with families to maintain safe and effective schools.
Thank you for your patients and grace in 2020-2021! Get some rest over the summer and come back ready to hit the door running in August. You can expect some clarification on school guidance in late July or early August.
