Good luck to our middle school wrestlers and 8th grade volleyball team this weekend. We have 18 wrestlers competing in sectionals at Auburn. Saturday morning our 8th grade volleyball team will be playing at home against Pontiac at 10:15 AM as they begin regional tourney play.

Attention GCMS Families: It has come to our attention that there have been scam calls placed to local residents asking for money for a GCMS fundraiser. We are NOT soliciting funds at this time and community members should disregard these calls as spam.

So that we are able to accommodate all of our guests for our upcoming grandparent/special visitor days at the elementary school, please limit the # of visitors to no more than 2 per student. We will send a sign-up sheet home with the kids next week. Thanks!

Mr. Renchen's 6th grade Music Appreciation class had the opportunity to video chat with GCMS alum Alex Duquette (Class of 2012) regarding music composition. The students are working on creating their own music compositions and gathered insight from Alex on how to go about creating melodies from scratch and how to refine their creations. The students enjoyed meeting a fellow GCMS student who was in the very same classroom not too long ago! Alex currently resides in Memphis, TN and is a freelance composer and musician. He hosts a weekly YouTube livestream in which he improvises music based on suggestions by his audience. He also recently recorded an album (Songs from Sangamon Street) that pays homage to his hometown of Gibson City, wherein each song tells the story of a fictional character that lives on Sangamon Street. Good luck to our middle school wrestling team and the 7th grade volleyball team! They both begin regional play Saturday morning. Our wrestling team is currently 27-0. They are the first undefeated team in school history. They will be in LeRoy Saturday morning. Matches start at 9:00 AM. Our 7th grade volleyball team is currently 18-2. They will play at 11:30 AM here at the middle school. We are Falcon Proud!
GCMS Elementary will host Grandparent/Special Visitor days March 13-17! The schedule will be:
13= 1st grade (11:20-11:50 lunch and then 45-60 min. activity)
14= 2nd grade (11:50-12:20 lunch and then 45-60 min. activity)
15= 3rd grade (11:50-12:20 lunch and then 45-60 min. activity) and Kindergarten (activity beginning at 2:00)
16= 4th grade (12:20-12:50 lunch and then 45-60 min. activity)
17= 5th grade (12:20-12:50 lunch and then 45-60 min. activity)

Good morning! We have had several cars using the U-drive in the morning to drop off kids. For safety purposes and to maintain timely bus service, the U-drive is reserved only for buses from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm on school days. Thank you for your attention to this.

Tomorrow's (Saturday) girls regional basketball game vs. Bismarck-Henning will start at 11 AM at the high school . Admission to game is $5 for everyone, including senior citizens and students. The prices for admission are set by the IHSA. We hope to have a large crowd tomorrow to cheer on our Lady Falcons!
