GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Tuesday, December 6th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Students, this week you will be completing Fastbridge Testing.  Please try your best on these tests.  Your teachers will review these test results to determine what students need extra help in math and/or reading.  So please try your best so you will get an accurate score.

Good luck to our boys basketball teams as they have games here at home tonight as part of the Twin County Conference tournament.   The 7th grade game will be played at 5:15 vs. IW and the 8th grade game will be right after that at 6:30 vs. P. Central.  Please make plans to come and support the teams. Because this is a tournament, Middle School students attending the games will have to pay a $2 admission fee

Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade volleyball players, if your parents did not attend the parent meeting on Friday please see Ms. Jurik for a packet of paperwork.  Also, please make sure all school paperwork is turned in otherwise you can’t practice.  Also, for practice today, volleyball players will ride bus number 8, which is the first bus in line, over to the elementary school.  Your practice today will be in the new gym.

Attention students that participate in Mrs. Van Vickle’s lunch groups, you will be meeting today.

The GCMS Middle School Student Council is holding a Food Drive to benefit the Gibson area Food Pantry until Monday, December 19.

Bring in non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations and put them in the box located in your Enrichment classroom. The Enrichment with the most items/money will receive a reward to be determined by the winners.

For an item to be counted it must contain a bar code and not be expired.

Each dollar donated will be counted as one item.

Reminder- we invite all students and staff to wear festive clothes or accessories on Fridays in December! It has to be school appropriate and no PJs.

We would like for all students to do their check-in during the 1st hour.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. J can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch.

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
