GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Monday, September 12th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Students, as most of you know Gibson City is under a boil order today and tomorrow.  Hopefully you brought plenty of water with you.  Remember, you can not drink from the water fountains or the water filling stations.  We will have extra bottles of water in the office if you need more water.

The media club will meet tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM in the library.

The schoolwide reading challenge has started.  We will be officially voting this year.  In order to participate in voting, you need to read at least three of the books.  For every five books you read, there will be a prize.  This challenge will end February 1st.  If you have any additional questions please ask your reading teacher.  https://www.rebeccacaudill.org/images/2023/2023CaudillAuthorList.pdf

Congratulations to our softball team.  On Saturday they defeated PBL in the Regional Semi-Final game by a score of 15-5.  Tomorrow they play for the regional championship.

Congratulations to both the Juniors and Seniors JFL teams.  Both teams remain undefeated on the season as they beat Iroquois West this weekend.  The Seniors won by a score of 39-24 and the Juniors won by a score of 24-0.

Congratulations to the 8th grade Red Crush captains!  We know you will create a great atmosphere for our basketball and volleyball games.

We would like for all students to do their check-in during 1st hour.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. J can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch.

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
