GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Friday, September 9th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

The schoolwide reading challenge has started.  We will be officially voting this year.  In order to participate in voting, you need to read at least three of the books.  For every five books you read, there will be a prize.  This challenge will end February 1st.  If you have any additional questions please ask your reading teacher.  https://www.rebeccacaudill.org/images/2023/2023CaudillAuthorList.pdf

Congratulations to Rylan Urrutia and Dayne White for competing in the IESA golf sectional yesterday and representing GCMS well.  Rylan finished with a score of 108 which put him in the top 25.  Dayne is moving on to the state championship round with a score of 95.  Dayne made history by being the first GCMS Middle School golfer to qualify for the state championship.  The future is bright for these 6th grade golfers!

Great job to our baseball team.  They defeated PBL last night by a score of 12-2.  It’s always great when we beat PBL!    Good luck to our baseball team this weekend as they play at Fisher tomorrow morning.

Good luck to our softball team!  They play this Saturday at 10 AM vs. PBL.  The game is being played in Hoopeston and it is the regional semi-final.  Good luck ladies.

We would like for all students to do their check-in during 1st hour.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. J can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch.

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
