Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Wednesday, September 7th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

All are welcome to join!

Media Club and Newspaper Club will meet in the library. If you have any questions see Ms. Ferguson.

Geography Club will meet in Mrs. Ricks' room. Geography Club will do a different activity this year, so please come to see if you would be interested.

The schoolwide reading challenge has started.  We will be officially voting this year.  In order to participate in voting, you need to read at least three of the books.  For every five books you read, there will be a prize.  This challenge will end February 1st.  If you have any additional questions please ask your reading teacher.  https://www.rebeccacaudill.org/images/2023/2023CaudillAuthorList.pdf

We have two student-athletes that are competing in the IESA Golf sectional tomorrow in Pontiac.  Good luck to Rylan Urrutia and Dayne White.  We know you will represent GCMS well!

Congratulations to the baseball and softball teams.  They both had big wins last night.  The baseball team won 4-0 over Cissna Park.  Graydon Leonard and Mitchell Heinz combined to pitch a no-hitter.  The softball team defeated Prairie Central by a score of 6-3.  They finished the regular season with an 11-3 record and are undefeated in conference play.  They are the first GCMS softball team to win the conference championship!  Congratulations ladies on a great regular season.

We would like for all students to do their check-in during 1st hour.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. J can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch.

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
