GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Tuesday, August 23rd.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Students, please be aware that this is the last week that we are not counting tardies to class.  At this point you should start being familiar with your schedule and should be on time to all of your classes.  If you are struggling being on time to a particular class please consider why you are being late and think about possible solutions.  If you need help with this please reach out to any adult on campus.  We will be glad to help find a solution for you.  In most cases the solution is to better plan what school supplies you need so that you do not have to stop at your locker every passing period.

There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in participating in Student Council next Wednesday, August 24 at 7:30 AM in Mr. Hoogstraat’s room.  If you are unable to attend please contact Mr. Hoogstraat before the meeting.

Please be sure to sign up for hot lunch if you are eating school lunch today.  Thank you for taking the time to Be Prepared

Students, Fastbridge testing will be conducted by various grade levels all week.  Please try your best on these tests as your teachers will be using this data throughout the school year.  So it is very important to try your best in order to get an accurate score.

Congratulations to our baseball team.  They defeated Prairie Central last night by a score of 4-2.

Good luck to both our softball and baseball teams today.  They both have home games today after school.  The softball team is dismissed at 3:00 and the baseball team is dismissed at 3:10.

Girls interested in signing up for basketball: Signups for girls basketball will be on the counter in the office by lunchtime today.  Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade girl interested in going out for basketball should sign-up and take an informational packet.  Girls basketball begins September 6.  See Coach Leitz or Mr. Berry if you have any questions.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
