Illinois weather is certainly rearing its ugly side this week and next. To that end, I am going to share a schedule change for next week, February 8th – February 12th, in order to allow time for both teacher and family planning. The schedule will be as follows.
Monday, February 8 – full day in-person learning as planned
Tuesday, February 9 – full day in-person learning as planned
Wednesday, February 10 – remote Wednesday as planned
*Thursday, February 11 – Remote ½ day (no student in-person attendance) Teachers Available 8:30 – 11:30 for digital engagement
Friday, February 12 – No School Lincoln’s Birthday
The only change is shifting Thursday from a ½ day of in-person instruction to a remote learning day that will operate in the same fashion as a remote Wednesday for teachers and students. The reason we are making this call at this point is that the projected low temperature for Thursday is -9 degrees with a feels like at -30 which would cause us to cancel school. Making this decision in advance gives everyone involved advanced notice for planning purposes and alters just 3 hours of instruction.
We have had a large number of students on quarantine this week who can take advantage of more access to direct support from their teachers both Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 – 11:30.
All evening activities and contests will continue as planned.
