GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Tuesday, September 26th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Congratulations to our girls basketball teams.  Last night they played against Fisher.  The 7th grade team won by a score of 16-8.  The 8th grade team won by a score of 33-19.  Good luck to both teams today as they travel to Ridgeview.

Any middle school student who would like to participate in Red Crush, please go to the gym at 8 am Thursday. Mr. Van Vickle will be teaching some cheers that are sure to get our teams fired up!

Attention any boys in 6th and 7th grade interested in going out for basketball- there will be a meeting with Coach Berry during your recess times today in Coach Berry's room.  Any 6th and 7th grade boys interested in going out for basketball should report to Coach Berry's room when you are dismissed for recess.  See Coach Berry if you have any questions.

Students, thank you so much for your participation in today’s homecoming theme day.  Tomorrow is dress like a character from a game.  Remember that whatever you wear must fit into the school dress code.  You can’t wear a mask and you can’t have any props that are weapons.

Students, just a reminder that we have the school-wide Rebecca Caudill reading challenge taking place.  If you read three books off of the list you can officially vote for your favorite book.  If you read 5 books you will earn a candy bar prize.  If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Shreffler or your Literature/English teacher.

We would like for all students to do their check-in during the 1st hour.  Even if you do not want a check-in today please be sure to log-in and submit that you do not want a check-in.  We want all students to be comfortable with this process.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. Zook can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch if you still need to.

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
