GCMS Middle School

Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Tuesday, May 16th.

Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.      

Students, today we are on a normal bell schedule.  We hope you enjoyed hearing from Ben Zobrist yesterday.  Thank you so much to Ms. Gibson for helping to organize him coming to GGMS.  

Attention 8th grade students, today there will be an informational cheer meeting for any 8th graders wishing to tryout for the 23-24 football & basketball cheer teams over lunch in Mrs. VanVickle’s room.  

The middle school library will be closing Thursday for inventory. All library books are due back on Wednesday. Talk to Ms. Ferguson in the library if you have any questions.

Sign up for the 2024 Washington DC trip is still open, register before May 19 to still get the discounted price.  Please see Mrs. Warren if you have any questions.  

Attention track athletes-  Track equipment turn-in will be Wednesday, May 17 after school from 3:30-4:45.  Please bring in all school- issued clothing and equipment and be sure that all clothing is clean.  This season's awards and ribbons from the Sectional will also be given out at this meeting. Please plan to be picked up at no later than 4:45.  See Coach Berry or Coach Jurik if you cannot attend.  

Attention wrestlers-  Wrestling awards and equipment turn-in will be next Thursday, May 18 after school from 3:30-4:30 in the cafeteria.  Please bring in all school- issued clothing and equipment and be sure that all clothing is clean.  This season's awards will also be given out at this meeting.  Please plan to be picked up no later than 4:30.  Contact Coach Brucker or see Coach Berry if you have any questions.

There is information on the counter in the office for any 6th and 7th grade boys interested in attending basketball camp this summer.  Camp will be held from May 30-June 2 at the Aux Gym.  See Coach Dinkins or Coach Berry if you have any questions.

Attention wrestlers, there is some wrestling camp information on the counter in the office.  One of the camps is only for current 8th grade students.  The other camp is open to all grade levels.    

We would like for all students to do their check-in during the 1st hour.  This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. J can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.  

Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker and please be sure to sign up for hot lunch.   

Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
